Our History

 

There was a time in the 1920´s when all loudspeakers were designed like ours.

 

These old designs were built almost like musical instruments it simply was the way to do it, at the time.

 

The problem was that these loudspeakers really weren't very loud.

 

To make them louder engineers started to use specialized drivers for the different frequencies and simply forgot about the old designs.

 

 

 

Rebirth

 

Not to long ago, Neodymium rare earth magnets came along. That changed everything.

 

These very strong magnets also found their way into loudspeaker drivers and all of a sudden these vintage designs started to make sense again. If anyone actually had remembered them.

 

Danish resident expert Bjørn Johannesen, one of the cofounders of KVART & BØLGE,  had actually never abandoned these old ideas and concepts. His designs that he freely offered up to the do-it-yourself community for the love of the art quickly became legend and it was clear that he had built the proverbial better mouse trap. The company was born.
